When I was making the last revision of the site, I was running out of content ideas. A proverbial lightbulb went off when I was browsing the forum. I thought if we, the fans of Jun, were to contact all the artists Jun had worked with, how many would reply? It turned into a game of sorts, and the following are the responses we recieved.
1. Ted Poley
Jun is a musical Wizard, he comes up with the most amazing riffs and fast paced hooks, its always a pleasure to write with him. We have done several projects for Sega together. The songs always come out really fun, what a great talent he is!
2. Eric Martin (Thanks to bcdcdude)
Jun and I wrote and recorded two songs (Sons of Angels and American Dream) in 1996 for the Sega Saturn game "Daytona USA: Championship Circuit Edition." I was so excited to do this project because of my addiction to video games and to finally work with Jun Senoue. He is one of these guys that you would love to be in a band with, a total professional. Jun is a down to earth really cool guy but his guitar playing is out of this world!
Eric Martin
3. Julien-K (Thanks to Phoenix)
He was really great to work with and a man of his words. We hope to work together again on something when we have time. He pretty much let us (Julien-K) do our thing but gave us some music and a direction to follow for the "Theme Of Team Dark" as they had specific needs for the song in the game...... thanks, amir
4. Kay Hanley (Thanks to Phoenix)
Working with Jun was a really good experience. We have a lot in common, so it was pretty easy to get to know each other and that is crucial (to me, anyway) to getting a song into it's best possible shape. He's such a respectful, nice person and it made want to do a good job for him.
5. Kaz Silver (Thanks to Phoenix...again)
Hi...thanx for writing...it was a lot of fun...and i'd be happy to do work for him anytime in the future...let him know that...thanx again Kaz..
6. Gunnar Nelson (Thanks to Kyle)
Jun is a new friend of mine... and he was actually the one who brought the 'Team Chaotix' theme my way. Due to time and distance challenges, our collaboration on the song was done via email, believe it or not! Jun sent me a rough idea of some of the melodic components he liked for the theme, as well as a very basic breakdown of the different characters in the game (so I could write appropriate lyrics). What followed was a whirlwind of creativity... it was very exciting for me as a writer, musician, and producer. It was quite a challenge! I think Jun's energy and positivity was essential in setting the mood for a fun and productive song... all I did was put my 'mojo' into the melodic structure, and let the lyrics write themselves according to the characters. Recording was a groove, accomplished in just two days... I got to record all of the instruments myself... but the one thing I missed is having Jun here in person to be able to throw down some mind-melting guitarwork on it. He promised we'd do just that on the next song we do together.
All in all, Jun's a pro and a pleasure.
Kind Regards, Gunnar Nelson
7. Johnny Gioeli (Huge thanks to Chris/HardlineRocks)
It`s great, Jun`s great - he writes the music and sends it to me and I listen to it and say OK I HAVE AN IDEA or THIS SOUNDS COOL and so on. Than we get together like WE LOVE THIS, NOOOO, WHAT ABOUT THAT and start working the whole thing out. That`s the way we work things out for Crush40. It`s a lot of fun working with Jun.
