There's something wrong with my guitar... - 2008/10/20 23:29 In September this year I was going to play my guitar but when I picked it up I noticed that there were wires coming out of the cable thing where the chord was supposed to go in when you put it in the amp (sorry, don't know how to explain it better than that)...my dad fixed the jack but then when I put the chord in again there was no sound...only really loud static...and no sound comes out of the guitar, sometimes barely but it's really hard to hear...I think some of the wires inside the guitar are broken or something, but I don't even know how the were able to break in the first place

Re:There's something wrong with my guitar... - 2008/10/21 00:01 Try unscrewing the jack on your guitar and having a look, the wires are possibly on the wrong "poles" of the jack.

if you could take a photo of the inside of the jack, and the inside electronics* of the guitar, i can probably help.

*depending on what kind of guitar your have - strat-type guitars are usually too awkward because the electronics are attached to the pickguard.
