Re:music recomendations - 2008/02/01 20:09 I checked it half an hour ago. I haven't touched it for 3 years (in 2 days time...). It's currently 15,396 words long, and i'm a far way from finishing.

Since i currently own 34 Jun-related albums (10 Eric Martin, 2 Gunnar Nelson, 11 Johnny Gioeli, 6 Tony Harnell, 3 Kay Hanley, 1 Ted Poley, some random stuff like Genius, Melodicrock.com and Voices of Rock and some random ARP songs not on studio albums), i'm a LOOOOONG way from finishing it. In fact i might have to start again, since my viewpoints have changed since that time ago. The idea was to have a track-by-track review of all the songs, to go on the website.

I would like to finish it, so that people can come on here, look at my view, and go out and buy it (I would post links to directly buy it). Give me 6 months and i'll post it on here LOL! Perhaps i can send it to you, and you can seperate it so that each album has its own link? Or have a Eric Martin link, that has a bio, the relevance to Jun and then all about their own albums. That would be most gravy!

Oh - and I got The Mars Volta's new album which is pretty neat so far, though there are no 10+ minute songs this time around!! (so as to be on topic~!)

Re:music recomendations - 2008/02/02 05:03 My favorite album is djTAKA's Milestone. I love all of the trance songs on there, and since I am a hardcore beatmania fan, I enjoy hearing longer versions of beatmania songs.

My least favorite album is Shinkyoku by Asaki (which I obtained through legal download) which is "Visual Kei" music. Visual Kei is basically Japanese goth/metal/death metal/screaming music. I like some songs from there, but there some really WEIRD songs from that cd, like "Konoko no nanatsu no oiwaini."

Re:music recomendations - 2008/02/17 17:00 Hey, Tetris, you could have posted the names of the j-pop singers in romaji. I just could made out an Ayumi (Hamasaki I'm guess) and some Hitomi... (Shimatani?).

It would be great if you finish your track-by-track review, Benji. I promise I'll read it ('cause it will take several time to do so lol).
Which ARP songs are not on studio albums...?

Re:music recomendations - 2008/02/17 21:10 Songs on The Ballads I, II and III and The Wizards Chosen Few (A best of).

On Ballads I, there are 6 tracks not on studio albums, 5 on Ballads II, 3 on III and 4/5 on TWCF (if you include the remix of Hear You Calling Me). All of them have a mixture of exclusive tracks, songs redone with Johnny on vocals and previous Japanese bonus tracks.

I downloaded and paid for those tracks (from a website that's shut down now) as i didn't want to pay £10 for a CD where i owned most of the tracks already. If you want the songs in general i can let you know. They can be downloaded on iTunes.

And i made a little progress today, but i still haven't finished Eric Martin and Johnny Gioeli. I haven't even started Ted Poley, Gunnar Nelson, Kay Hanley or Tony Harnell yet...good gravy :|

Re:music recomendations - 2008/02/19 14:02 You can do it, Benji!

Yeah now I know what you mean with the Tracks.
I own The Ballads three... so those tracks would mean "Don't Say Goodbye", "Forever Angel [Acoustic]" and "The Temple of the King". All of those are great tracks, btw.

Re:Music Recomendations - 2008/02/24 01:20 I also like Michael Jackson. I love the album Thriller, and I like Michael's style.

I have some interest in Human League, but not as much as MJ. I admire the fact that Human League uses the Synclavier and many Yamaha & Roland synthesizers, but I don't like the fact that they use the synths on default setting, and the Synclavier sounds too much like ordinary synths, unlike MJ's "Beat It," where the synclavier has a completely different sound (the gong sound in "Beat It" comes courtesy of the Synclavier).

Re:Music Recomendations - 2008/02/24 20:05 Obviously you love your electronicy music - just curious, what do you think of Kraftwerk? Seeing as they are pretty much pioneers in that kind of music? Trans-Europe Express and Autobahn are essential albums - Autobahn i can just listen to and drift away, especially Morgenspaziergang 1 & 2!

Re:Music Recomendations - 2008/02/24 21:20 Kraftwerk? Never heard of them, heh... I am more of a dance/trance/rave fan. I even like the Sonic Arcade album (the one with "They Call Me Sonic").

And yes, I love electronic music. The problem I have with rave nowadays is that more dance musicians are adding electric guitar into rave music. Not that I have a problem with guitar, but, it doesn't really fit into a genre that was pioneered by computers and synthesizers, although B4U ~gutier rave~ [sic] is good. Naoki sucks at spelling ^_~.

Re:Music Recomendations - 2008/02/25 19:21 LOL If you ask me Kraftwerk are one of the pioneering bands that helped make electronic music popular back in the mid 70's! Some people say that they are as important as the Beatles!

I would certainly check them out - you owe yourself if you like the music you currently like LOL. Read some info on them on Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraftwerk

I've heard of Naoki - though i only have one dancemania album (Best 2001 Hypermix or something). Good stuff though

Naoki is the head music composer for the Dance Dance Revolution/Dancing Stage series. I cannot really say Dancing Stage as much as DDR, because DS steals songs that were originally on the Japanese DDRs.

Naoki is most likely the most popular musician that works at KONAMI.

Re:Music Recomendations - 2008/02/27 19:25 Can't say I have, but I love hearing new things, so perhaps i'll hear it in the future.

In JS-related news, i've FINALLY got a copy of Eric Martin's self titled album from 1985!! Haven't heard it yet, but it has a Michael Bolton cover on - so it must be good LOL!! (I'm not sure if i'm being sarcastic as i like a couple of songs...). I've bidded on another pre-Mr. Big album, and am awaiting 3 Ted Poley related albums too...Good gravy!

Re:Music Recomendations - 2008/02/29 02:00 Um... My electonic music tastes are the ones that are very under the radar, like Forte Escape, djTAKA and Naoki, who are only known to beatmania IIDX and DDR fans. My mainstream interest is Michael Jackson. I love Jpop http://www.putfile.com/segasonic/media
