No offense, but this is kind of a weird thread... I don't exactly know what you like, but if you want me to suggest what I like, stuff like eurobeat, trance, and Jpop.

Re:music recomendations - 2008/01/19 19:53
I listen to almost every genre of music (almost - opera, garage, R+B and Chav music is a no-no). If you're open minded give these artists a go - they are my favourites. Songs in brackets are my favourite (at the moment) song of theirs
-Rush (Limelight) -Hardline (Change of Heart) -Mr. Big/Eric Martin (Take Cover/Kansas) -TNT (Perfectly) -The Smiths (I Know It's Over) -Morrissey (King Leer) -Sigur Ros (Untitled 3) -blink-182/+44/Angels and Airwaves (Going Away To College/Little Death/Heaven) -The Offspring (Pay The Man) -R.E.M. (Why Not Smile) -Iron Maiden (Hallowed Be Thy Name) -Jimmy Eat World (Your House) -The The (Uncertain Smile) -Weezer (Butterfly) -Meat Loaf (Out Of The Frying Pan (And Into The Fire)) -Eels (Things The Grandchildren Should Know) -Kraftwerk (Kometenmelodie 2) -The Smashing Pumpkins (Starla) -Whitesnake (Now You're Gone)
That's a varied lot from hard rock to folk. That should keep you going for a while.

If you like Johnny Gioeli, you should definitely listen to his other bands: Hardline, Axel Rudi Pell, Accomplice (Haven't had the chance to listen to this one though). Other groups I like are Iron Maiden, Evanescence and Starbreaker (this last band feature Tony Harnell -from It doesn't matter- as vocalist).
Besides, I like J-pop as well. I'd recommend Maaya Sakamoto, Lena Park, Wada Kouji and, if you like trance, check out Globe (this one is in Japanese as well).

Did i forget Axel Rudi Pell? Gosh - in which case listen to Oceans of Time.
As for Accomplice, i do have it (a 22nd b-day present) and i gotta say it's a bit below-par i'm afraid. It starts off well - the first 3 or 4 songs, but then i often forget it's on! If you can pick it up cheap do so, 'cos Gioeli is Gioeli!
Also check out Voices Of Rock's "MMVII" which has a Gioeli track as well as songs from singers from bands such as Harem Scarem, Slamer etc.

Hey, Benji... your opinion on Accomplice is due to Johnny's performance or the work of the rest of the band?

I would say the music. Gioeli, as always, has a great voice - but to be honest, after the 1st 3 songs, the rest is rather dull. If you can get it cheap - by all means get it, but it's a 5/10 for me.

I see. I wouldn't doubt getting it if I had the chance though. It's Johnny after all x3! He can even make the same old lyrics of Axel sound well lol .

Oh yeah - All Gioeli is worth getting Axel's lyrics are mostly terrible LOL! But Johnny sings them well, and the music is awesome anyway. "Take the crown and take your own life in your hands...DRAWBRIDGE DOWN" is hardly Morrissey or Springsteen LOL!!

Yep, Axel's music is very catchy. And it's awesome as you say too. Songs as Don't say Goodbye... I love it x3.

After a year of trying, I FINALLY got Genius: Episode 2. It's a 3 album concept which is rather good but confusing. Johnny Gioeli AND Eric Martin are guests on this album! If you can nab it cheap - go get it. Eric is on an 8 minute song and Johnny on a 7 and 10 1/2 minute song

Dream Theater. If your going to listen to hip-hop/rap. Check out NWA or Ice Cube's "Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It." That is a Kick in the booty rap song and I came across the music video unintentionally. I don't even listen to rap hahaha
But yea, Check out Dream Theater, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Some Elvis Presley, Keith Urban, Eric Clapton, Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, Andy Timmons. All good stuff.

Thread pinned, it has potential. And for the record BlueLightning, Benji has 3 slave elves that work split shifts to write some of his posts, so rumor has it.

LOL. I do comply with minimum government legislation..ish, I give 5p an hour and a cup of milk and 3 cookies! I'm just a quick typer, and when I know what i'm talking about, before I know it, i've written a couple thousand words!
The best of 2007 post I did not long ago, was about an hour's work overall. Speaking of long posts, the ultra-post I started about 3 years ago but never finished (My track-by-track review of as many Jun related albums as possible), I still have. Perhaps one day i'll finish it. Either that or i'll rewrite it as my opinion has changed in the last couple of years LOL.
Since we're on the subject, I got The Twilight Sad's debut album "Fourteen Autumns And Fifteen Winters". If you like reasonably dour Scottish indie, it's well worth a look LOL. It's a bit different to Ted Poley's new album
